CHRIS-CRAFT INVITES STUDENTS TO PLANT FOR MANUFACTURING DAY

Sarasota, FL – October 4, 2019 – Manufacturing day is held annually on the first Friday in October. It is a day to celebrate the goods and services made in America, and to educate others on the manufacturing industry.

Chris-Craft was pleased to invite 6th grade students from Laurel Nokomis School to the plant for a factory tour and to learn about boat building. Matthew McGinnis, VP of Manufacturing, said “Regardless of your personal interests, everyone here can be proud of the products we produce, and it is always a joy to share what we do with young minds that will be our future.”

“Manufacturing is responsible for about $2.3 trillion of the US economy and has the largest multiplier of any economic sector.  For every $1 invested in manufacturing, about $1.82 is added to the economy. While at Chris-Craft we may play a small role in the total US economy, I can’t think of a better way to have a successful career than to make beautiful works of nautical art that are enjoyed around the world.” says Matt McGinnis, Chris-Craft Vice President of Manufacturing.
